  • CYO 2021-2022

CYO Athletics is part of the diocesan Department of Evangelization and Catechesis and part of Youth Ministry outreach. There is an obvious component of evangelization in CYO Athletics; an opportunity to strengthen the connection of baptized Catholics to their Church and an opportunity to be a witness of what a Catholic Christian believes and lives to those who are not Catholic. For these reasons, we enforce the following principles.

    • CYO Athletics are built on mutual respect
    • CYO Athletics celebrate the dignity of each individual person
    • CYO Athletics encourages the unique gifts of each participant
    • Principles of fair play and sportsmanship govern all games, practices, and scrimmages
    • Participants, both youth and adult, model Christian values and virtues
    • CYO Athletics allows the gifted to excel, and the less gifted to participate and improve
    • Playing is more important than winning
    • Winning well is more important than winning

  • Note to Parents

Once Registration is complete, CYO Coaches will be contacting players & their parents with information regarding practice days & times. We hope to offer the opportunity to participate in the following grades: 3rd/4th girls & boys, 3 rd /4th coed, 5th /6th girls & boys, 7th /8th girls & boys, JV girls & boys, Varsity girls & boys. We cannot guarantee every grade level will have a team. The cost will be as listed on the registration form and will include practice 1-2 nights per week, 12 regular-season games, scrimmages & tournament(s). Practices will begin as soon as possible. Games will start in early December through mid-February. Tournaments may be later than the regular season. Some volunteer time is mandatory to help our basketball program. We need committee members and coaches, as well as volunteers for other small projects. Parent involvement is critical for the success of the program. All parents will be required to volunteer or help in some way and must complete the Background check & Safe & Sacred online training listed above. Please be generous with your time.
