St. John's is a place to encounter Christ in the sacraments, in community, and in the Scriptures through prayer, service, and fellowship.

Volunteers are always needed and welcome to volunteer for the following Ministry Areas. Please call the parish office at 585-352-5481 if you are interested in volunteering. The only requirement for these ministries is a Spirit of Hospitality! 

• Prayer Chain – We Pray! A group of dedicated fellow parishioners who will pray for the intentions of those who ask, and continue to offer their prayers daily until they are told that the need has passed.

• Caring Friends Ministry - We Care! When a death has occurred, families need to know that they have the ongoing and caring support of the parish. Therefore, a “Caring Friends Ministry” has been established. Soon after the funeral a member of the “Caring Friends Ministry” will call the family, offering condolences, a listening ear, and an offer to visit.

• Homebound Visitation - We Visit! Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound (EMHC) bring Holy Eucharist communication to parishioners who are unable to participate in weekly liturgies and events. Parishioners may be homebound after a hospitalization, illness, or challenges with aging. The EMH team additionally visits those parishioners residing in rehab or assisted living facilities.​​​​​​​

• Sonshine Club – We Shine!  Be a part of our encouragement and the get-well team of volunteers who send cards to homebound parishioners. They meet once a month for this card writing extravaganza!

• Lazarus Ministry - We Serve! The Lazarus Ministry provides hospitality and refreshment to family and friends following a funeral at St. John’s Church. We are looking for volunteers to further this ministry. We need help with the following:
  · Setting up
  · Serving
  · Cleaning up
  · Bakers who would be willing to make a dessert and drop it off
