Faith Formation

  • Raising Your Children in the catholic faith

Our goal is to support parents in their role as the primary teachers in the ways of faith by offering a variety of options for children and families to grow and learn. Religious Education = Life-long Learning

    • Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Level I (ages 3 - 5) and Level II (ages 6 - 8) Information on this Montessori-based experience is available here: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd video
    • Grade-Level Religious Education Classes: (Grades 2 -7
    • Two-Year Confirmation Program: (Grades 8 + 9)
    • Adult Learning
Following all guidelines for safety, disinfection, and social distancing of students, we can offer In-Person classes for the above programs. All levels meet 2x per month in the St. John’s school building, September – May. Families choose either Sundays (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM) or Mondays (6:30 PM – 8:00 PM). Adults meet at the same times in a separate classroom to discuss topics related to life-long faith learning.
We also offer an At-Home option for Grade-Level Religious Education Classes ONLY. Parents instruct their children using the same materials used in our In-Person classes. Families must submit an electronic Chapter Review after each lesson and meet with the Coordinator of Religious Education periodically throughout the school year.
When we are safely able, we will resume our quarterly Family Fun Days. Families gather in the school building to explore a theme or facet of our Catholic teachings in a fun, hands-on setting. We’ve found that these interactive, multi-age sessions can promote faith sharing at home.
  • Catechesis of the good shepherd

This is a nationally recognized, Montessori-based approach to faith formation for children 3-5 years old. Our CGS trained facilitators bring the deepest truths to our youngest disciples through hands-on experiences in the Atrium on Sundays during G.I.F.T. sessions, and on Thursday afternoons from 12:30pm-1:45pm.
